Asunderland's prologue was an interactive story started by Azrai. It was told predominantly on TikTok through videos made by a collaborating community of thousands, using the #asunderland hashtag. Currently, the tag has over 60 million views and . Azrai and the team they assembled created a world, gameplay rules, and a discord server; effectively staffing a virtual larp.
"What goes down, must come up." Asunderland is the story of an apocalypse in a fairytale world. A world in which the Wizard of Oz and the high class of The Emerald City operate a totalitarian regime, where citizens are seen as commercial assets. Aalis (serial number AA1i5) is one such asset- one of many. Citizens who are deemed "unproductive," or unable to add to the Emerald City's prestige find themselves sent underground to the Rabbit Hole for a service called "repurposing." They are given new programming by the City so that they may live happy and productive lives again. Some stay down there longer than others. The story follows Repurposed characters like Aalis and her companions, those who work for the City and in the Rabbit Hole, Rebels, and rogue fairytale characters as they build to the cataclysm that changed their world- and the world they will create afterwards. |
